If you live near a pool or a natural body of water, putting your body in it is a great way to get yourself moving with minimal injury or risk (provided you don’t pretend you’re training for competition!). Even if all you do is float and glide around, you’ll be accomplishing far more than you would from your couch. Swimming is also an activity that many people find de-stressing, and studies agree that its de-stressing effects are real.
